【英文】VMware内存扩容后虚拟磁盘报错

Preface

Error message after expanding VMware memory: “File not found: virtual disk-000001.vmdk”

Then you can manually specify the virtual disk, but the specification is incorrect, and the error continues: “Unable to open disk ‘xxx.vmwarevm/virtual disk.vmdk’ or one of the snapshot disks it depends on. Module ‘Disk’ power on failed. Failed to start the virtual machine.”

Restoring the snapshot at this time will also result in an error: “Error occurred while restoring the snapshot: The specified file is not a virtual disk.”

Problem Resolution

  • Edit the virtual machine name.vmwarevm/virtual machine name.vmx file and manually reassign the value of nvme0:0.fileName to the first virtual disk (the specified path is a relative path).
